We Can Do Better Conference

We Can Do Better, a non-profit organization which engages citizens in identifying barriers and solutions to improving health and health care for all, will hold its ninth annual "We Can Do Better" Conference at the Portland Art Museum. The following speakers will help emphasize the group's vision that only by working together can we create a better health care system for all Oregonians: 

  • Keynote by former Governor John Kitzhaber
  • Rep. Alissa Keny-Guyer and mental health patient advocates, sharing the story of their successful advocacy this legislative session
  • Rep. Diego Hernandez and Cover All Kids advocate Aldo Salano of the Oregon Latino Health Coalition 
  • Multnomah County Commissioner Sharon Meieran, MD; and Health Care for All Oregon President Tom Sincic, FNP
  • Rep. Julie Fahey, who will speak on the Reproductive Health Equity Act (HB 3391)
  • Grayson Dempsey, Oregon Foundation for Reproductive Health/NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon
  • Liz Salmi (@TheLizArmy) of Open Notes
  • Housing is Health Initiative leader Ed Blackburn 
  • Carolyn McKnight of Portland State University on "Finding Your Leadership Purpose"
