Climate Advocate Training

  • Eugene Public Library 100 W. 10th Ave. Eugene, OR 97401 (map)

The Lane County chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby is hosting a free workshop at the Eugene Public Library on Climate Advocacy led by CCL's Tamara Staton. Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a grassroots citizens lobbying organization that empowers citizens to break through the myth that they can’t make a difference. At this workshop, you'll learn how to discuss climate issues with colleagues, friends, family, and legislators.

The workshop will include inspiring and provocative presentations, group and paired discussions, training on how to speak on an issue, and time to role-play meeting with a member of Congress to encourage them to become champions for climate solutions.

On the agenda:
-Learn the basics of becoming an effective climate advocate
-Review the structure, mission, and purpose of CCL
-Learn how to build constructive relationships with elected representatives
-Review CCL’s methodology of creating political will
-Practice how to appeal to the best in others and build common ground
-Review the details and further resources to understand Carbon Fee & Dividend
