The Eugene-Springfield NAACP is partnering with the Friendly Area Neighbors Equity Action Team to hold a benefit dinner and concert in support of the effort to paint murals on the Dr. Edwin Coleman Jr. Center.
Dr. Edwin Coleman, Jr. was an African American educator and leader in Eugene who advocated for human and civil rights for all for more than 50 years. In 2018, the community center in Westmoreland Park was renamed for him, to honor his legacy to our community.
Featured entertainment is “An Evening of Ellington, Mingus and Monk” with the Invisible Arts Project: Eric Richardson on bass, Greg Black on guitar, and Daniel Powell on saxophone and bass clarinet.
