Timber Tax Fairness for Counties, Water and Forests

Join Tax Fairness Oregon for a community conversation about revenue restoration for forested counties, tax fairness, funding essential local services, and protecting drinking water. This presentation is for Lane, Lincoln, Douglas and Jackson counties and will include opportunities to ask questions and explore possible solutions. Questions to be addressed include:

  • Why can't some counties afford essential services?

  • What do timberland corporate owners contribute to county needs?

  •  What’s happening in our drinking watersheds?

Guest speakers include Jody Wiser, tax policy expert, Tax Fairness Oregon; Richard Felley, retired water district manager, past director Tillamook Estuaries Partnership; and Catherine Thomasson, MD, Retired Executive Director of Physicians for Social Responsibility.
