The Eugene-Springfield NAACP will host a Memorial Day barbecue with free food and children's activities at Washington Park in Eugene today. "This will be the 10th annual event, which was started by the Lane Community College Black Student Union in 2011. Since 2013 the local NAACP has hosted the event recognizing the link between the fight for liberty and the story of the African American community.” There will be an open mic, free youth books and information on summer programs.
