The Eugene Tenant Alliance is organizing to support important renter protections in the City of Eugene, and they need your help providing testimony to City Council. If passed by Council, "Phase 2" of these protections would provide displacement prevention assistance, offering tenants financial support when they're pushed out of their unit through no fault of their own. Landlords who issue a no-cause eviction notice would be required to compensate tenants with three months' rent, helping prevent them from being evicted into homelessness.
Sign up here if you're interested in testifying at the 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, Council meeting - either in person or via Zoom. You can read sample testimony and suggestions for telling your story here and learn more about displacement prevention assistance here.
