At Wear Orange 2023 members of the Eugene/Springfield community recognize survivors and honor those whose lives have been taken by gun violence. Join us to learn, reflect, and deepen your commitment to keeping everyone safe. See, touch, and participate in the Wall of Remembrance, honoring those who've been taken by gun violence and add your own message. Bring your lawn chair, and plan to catch the speakers and music near the stage. Featured guests include Eugene's own Raging Grannies, Northwest singer-songwriter John Shipe, and Eugene Bhangra.
2023 is the 25-year mark of the tragic shooting at Thurston High School. Springfield, with one of the highest city firearm suicide rates in the nation, knows all too well the personal impact of such events. We will feature a special tribute to the victims and survivors of the Thurston High School tragedy, which happened 25 years ago and has had a deep and lasting impact on our community. Join us in honoring them and advocating for change.
Speakers include:
Everytown Survivor Fellow McKay Sohlberg
Pacific Northwest Families Circle member Barbara Kenny
Oregon State Senator James Manning
Eugene City Councilor Matt Keating
Lane County Commissioner Laurie Trieger
