Oregon Community Asylum Network (OCAN) is asking people to attend the Lane County Board of Commissioners public comment session wearing a black or dark top and with a paper heart pinned to it to show support for immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community. The presence is intended to encourage the Board to issue a statement that the county sheriff will abide by Oregon’s sanctuary laws and that the county health department will continue to provide prescribed services, including gender-affirming treatments, to patients.
