Join our team as a fall Election Organizing Fellow

Organizing a day of action

Are you looking for an opportunity to break into politics? Do you want to establish lasting connections and gain campaign experience?

The Democratic Party of Lane County (DPLC) is currently accepting applications to its political fellowship program. The DPLC works to elect progressive leaders and enact political change in Eugene, Springfield, and Lane County. We are a volunteer-driven organization that succeeds by bringing folks together to fight for our shared values.

The DPLC is seeking to fill five Fellow positions and is happy to work with your university or college so you can receive academic credit. Fellows who complete the program will receive a stipend of $600. DPLC Fellows will be primarily working to recruit volunteers and support neighborhood level organizing in the November 2024 election.

We're seeking hard working and goal-oriented individuals who are eager to develop skills in political organizing. Although no prior experience is needed, you can expect to commit six hours per week to your fellowship with the DPLC. As a DPLC Fellow, you will gain experience:

  • Building core organizing skills, such as voter contact and volunteer recruitment;

  • Developing networks with political leaders and community members;

  • Organizing volunteers for campaign and community action projects; and

  • Getting out the vote for Democrats by talking to voters right now!

To apply for a fellowship with the DPLC, please submit a resume with two references and a one-page cover letter detailing your interest and qualifications to DPLC Chair Celine Swenson Harris at chair@dplc.org.

Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis. The Democratic Party of Lane County is committed to a diverse, multicultural work environment. People of color, people with disabilities, and people of diverse sexual orientations, gender expressions and gender identities are encouraged to apply
