Am I eligible to vote?
You may register to vote if:
You are an Oregon resident. There is no minimum residence requirement.
You are a U.S. Citizen or will become one before Election Day.
You are at least 16 years of age. If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after your 18th birthday.
When do I need to update my registration?
You move or change your mailing address.Your ballot is not forwardable mail. You must update your registration before you can receive a ballot at your new address
You change your name. If your name has changed, you must use the paper registration form.
You wish to change your party affiliation.
You wish to provide a current signature.
How do I register to vote?
You can register or update your registration online if you have an Oregon driver’s license or an ID card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV.
You can register or update your registration when you obtain or renew an Oregon driver’s license. Please note that there is a time lag for DMV to transfer your registration information to county elections officials. If it is within a few weeks of the registration deadline (21 days before an election), please contact your county elections office to confirm your registration or fill out and deliver a paper registration form. You do not need to have an Oregon driver’s license or ID card in order to register.
You can fill out a paper registration form and then deliver the form to your county elections office. If you are updating your registration, you must complete the full form as if it were a new registration. If you are not already registered in Oregon, you must use the paper form.
Is my registration current?

If your registration is in inactive status, you must update your registration before you will receive a ballot.

Where can you find voter registration cards?
Online at Oregon voter registration card.

What is the registration deadline?
In order to vote, your registration card must be postmarked or received at your county elections office 21 days prior to Election Day.
Party registration changes must be received at an elections office by the registration deadline.
What if I become a U.S. Citizen after the registration deadline?
If you are planning on becoming a U.S. Citizen after the registration deadline you must register by the registration deadline. Please contact Lane County Elections at 541-682-4234 for more information.
How do I know whether I am properly registered?
When you register or update your registration, a Voter Notification Card (VNC) will be sent to you. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery. Receipt of the VNC card is not necessary to vote. If you are registered, your ballot will be sent to you by mail.
